    Ideal for a variety of wood, furniture, metal and non-metal grinding and polishing. Can be used with
    1/2" x 18" File Sanders.
    The difference between the cork 1000 grit and all other sanding belts is the way they are produced. 65 grit cork which is non-abrasive that is adhered to the cloth belt then is coated with a 1000 grit Silicon Carbide which fills all the fissures in the cork and voids in the belt. As the user puts the belts to work the cork breaks away and leaves a fresh smooth surface of 1000 grit. The cork itself is not abrasive what so ever, it is just a vehicle to carry the 1000 grit Carbide and appears to be a bigger grain than compared to regular sandpaper belts. When you use it, it will highly polish the surface and leave it smooth. These cork 1000 grit belts are typically used in metal finishing or precision edge work. Please note when ordering these will not look like an average 1000 grit sandpaper belt.
