    Description

XYZ DaVinci (Original Series) are excellent printers but like all 3D Printers, there are modifications which produce even better results.
    The problem:
DaVinci's tend to have very uneven heat distribution on the bed.  Uneven heat makes ABS printing, particularly of larger parts very difficult.  You will notice shrinkage of a section of a part that is over a central baseball size area of the bed.  If you drop the temp enough to prevent the part from shrinking in the middle, it will curl off the bed outside of the hot spot.  I routinely measured 26 degrees centigrade (c) difference from center to 3.5" outside of the center of the bed.  UNACCEPTABLE!
    The Solution:
My Bed Heat Equalizer plate re-distributes extra heat from hot area's to cooler areas of the bed.  Temps on My printer's bed now run within a range of about 6 degrees low to high.
Additionally, you get even heating advantages of an aluminum bed without the warpage while enjoying the super flatness and ease of part removal glass beds provide.  Best of everything!
    What you get:
    Shown in
    Photo 1
: A Bed Heat Equalizer plate to drop easily into Davinci 200 x 200mm bed.  A silicone insulator strain reliever required to support to the bed heater power wires.
    Davinci Models this kit fits:
    1.0, 1.0a, 1.0 AiO, and 1.1 Plus
Does not fit the DUO.  Bed must be 7.8x7.8" or 7.9x7.9" in factory specifications
    Instructions:
    1. See photo's above.
    2. Use your T10 torx bit to remove screws
    (photo 2)
, place metal straps to side
    (photo 3)
, lift bed up carefully, do not strain wires going to bed!!!!
    3. Install silicone support insulator
(shown in hot pink in photo 4)
over the back lip of the wire well.  Silicone support insulator holds the wires firmly against the bottom of the glass for strain relief.
    4. Notice that the thermal sensor
    (photo 5)
must be on top of the white bed insulator.  It must touch the aluminum. (or the bottom of your heating element if you have no dissipation plate.)
    5. Place aluminum heat dissipation plate in with notch on printers right hand side (your left if facing printer)
    (photo 6 & 7)
.  PLATE MUST be on top of the white insulator bad.  Center the plate up
    (photo 8)
    in space available.
    6. Carefully replace heated glass bed in original position.
    (photo 9)
    7. Replace hold down straps and all screws including wire eyelets (on rear screws).  These screws should turn in by finger for 1 revolution before applying the tool.  Just lightly snug them!
    8. Re-level bed.  You will need to drop it 1mm.
PRO Davinci Tips:  (Note, tip is for all printers regardless of presence of Heat Equalizer upgrade)
    PRO TIP 1:
Use a non-contact pyrometer (aim and shoot temp gun) to check your bed.  You may find the bed temp does not match the setting.  Each time you make an adjustment, let the bed equalize for a couple of minutes before rechecking and making further adjustments.  Note the offset (X-value up or down) for future use.  Adjust your setting so you end up with a maximum of 105c for ABS.  For prints with smaller footprints about 100c is fine.
    PRO TIP 2:
I've used them all, the very best glue stick is Elmer's X-treme.  Hard to find in stores.  I bought a case here on eBay for myself.  Nothing better.  Most others are unusable.  If glue stick didn't work for you in the past, get the Elmer's X-treme.  No other Elmer's glue stick is acceptable.
    Who am I?
I am a professional maker (that means I make my living making things).  Own 4 XYZprinting Davinci's on Repetier software.  6000~ hours total printing time producing practical mechanical parts in ABS only.
