Shooting at Hammond, Indiana liquor store leaves 1 dead, 1 wounded

HAMMOND, Ind. (CBS) — One person was killed and another was wounded Thursday night in a shooting at a liquor store in Hammond, Indiana.
Police said, around 8:30 p.m., there was an altercation inside Nick’s Liquors, at 4607 Calumet Avenue. 
Two males were shot during the incident. One victim, who was shot in the chest and hand, was pronounced dead. The second victim, a bystander who was not involved in the altercation, was shot in the chin and shoulder, and was expected to survive.
The shooting happened around 8 p.m. at Nick’s Liquors in Hammond, near Chicago Street and Calumet Avenue.
Police asked anyone with information about the shooting, or who might have been near the store at the time, to contact detectives at 219-852-2906.
